Distance Education has been widely accepted as an alternative source of education. One reason for growing popularity of distance education can be attributed to the fact that it provides a chance to attain knowledge at any age, at any time,at any place and at a very economical fee. Punjab Technical University has recognised the need to provide distance education to the people, not only in Punjab, but also in other states of India. These courses have been receiving tremendous response by the students of distance education throughout the country.

Desh Bhagat School of Vocational Studies, Mandi Gobindgarh, is the only approved study centre of Punjab Technical University in Fatehgarh Sahib District. Established in the year 2001, the Institute has proved to be a boon for those individuals who are employed, and have a strong desire to attain professional qualification.
